Hi, I’m Gary Deagle.
I am a 32-year-old gym owner and fitness coach from Newport News, VA and currently living in Santa Monica, CA with my beautiful wife and pup.
Progressing into my 30s I started noticing how much more difficult it is to stay (and get) in shape. Friends of mine started hitting me up complaining about different injuries, frustration with not being able to train and stay in shape like we did in our early 20s, and about new responsibilities and priorities competing for our time.
I was getting the same story from the hundreds of clients I was meeting with at my training gym as well…
Then one day It dawned on me that the reasoning for this was really simple:
Our lives are busier than they have ever been.
Some interesting things start to happen as we exit our 20’s and enter our 30’s:
- We tend to get less sleep and wake up tired and sore.
- Our sex hormones peak… and then start their slow decline.
- Our popping ankles, knees, and wrists remind us that we’re getting older.
- We tend to snack and overeat more often, especially in the evenings.
- We do less binge drinking, but more consistent drinking. Polishing off a bottle of wine or drinking a few beers each night becomes a common routine.
Of course, it’s not all negative. Lots of great things start happening too:
- We get a good career that’s challenging and rewarding.
- We make more money than when we were younger.
- We develop long-lasting relationships with people we love.
- Some of us start to build and take care of a family.
- We become smarter (we think) and more experienced.
While everyone’s life experience is different, there are a few things that remain consistent no matter who you are. For most people, getting older usually means:
- increased responsibilities at home
- increased stress from work
- less time to take care of ourselves
This is how we end up with a gym membership we rarely use, a diet book we barely used, and a body we’re not particularly proud of.
Sure, we want to drop some fat and look more muscular and fit… but we just don’t have the time or energy. Someday, we tell ourselves, we’re finally going to get our ass in gear.
How I Can Help You
What if I told you it doesn’t have to be this way, though?
That you can look and feel better than you ever have before and wake up every day with energy…
And it doesn’t have to be a complicated, all-or-nothing extreme approach that just adds more stress to your already hectic life.
I can show you that it is possible, and teach you how to do it.
By learning how to keep your eating and exercise consistent and uncomplicated (so you aren’t adding more stress to the pile) you will get in the best shape of your life, even with a busy schedule.
You can take care of your body and health while making space for things you love, like family, friends, hobbies, your career, burgers, and watching football. (Okay, maybe things I love. 🙂 )
On my site, I will be teaching you the things you need to know about eating, exercise, and mindset that make looking and feeling your best… possible.
Shoot, you probably already know most of what to do…
Maybe you just struggle with ACTUALLY DOING IT…
That is the struggle for many of us. Which is why much of what I share is just reinforcing the basics that work the best and encouraging you to be consistent.
Consistency > Intensity.
At least it has been for me and my transformational journey.
From today on I want you to consider me your coach and resource for all things health and fitness.
Heck, I would love for you to send me an email and let me know how I can help you!
That is my personal email. I see and reply to all of them, every day.
Or you can hit me up on the gram’: @garydeagle
